𝐀𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬, 𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐠.
𝟏. After a long winter you may need to refresh some of your dogs training skills like walking on a leash properly, coming when called and not barking. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 can quickly and effectively help reinforce these commands. Take advantage of the long days and take it slow as you get back into shape.
𝟐. This is the time of year when your dog will shed his winter fur for a thinner coat. It is important to brush, brush, brush.
𝟑. April is heartworm Awareness month. When the winter weather starts to warm up, it’s important to make sure your dog is on preventive medication. If you live in a warmer climate, it is always important to use flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
𝟒. Check your yard for hazards or holes in a fenced area. Make sure before you plant anything new, it isn’t harmful to your dog. Always make sure there is some sort of shaded area like a tree or umbrella.
𝟓. Spring is a great time to visit the vet and make sure your dog is up on all of his vaccines.
𝟔. Microchip your dog and make sure his tags are up to date. The tag should have a phone #, address and “I’m microchipped!”
